Orkney CPP Annual Report 2024/25 published

The Orkney Community Planning Partnership (OCPP) has published its Annual Report for 2024–2025, highlighting the collective efforts of local partners to tackle poverty, promote sustainable development, and reduce inequality across Orkney.

This year’s report presents a candid assessment of the challenges facing Orkney’s communities, including rising fuel poverty and persistent child poverty. Despite these pressures, the Partnership has delivered impactful support through initiatives such as the Islands Cost Crisis Emergency Fund, which reached over 1,500 individuals, and Orkney Money Matters, which secured over £2.3 million in financial gains for residents.

The report also showcases strategic progress in areas such as:

  • Sustainable Development, including the launch of a Vision for a Net Zero Orkney and a Community Wealth Building Action Plan.
  • Equality, with targeted actions to support ferry-linked isles and reduce health and digital inequalities.
  • Cost of Living, through coordinated efforts to improve food access, energy efficiency, and financial resilience.

Councillor Heather Woodbridge, Chair of the OCPP Board, said:

“This report reflects the urgency and ambition of our work. We are committed to building a fairer, greener, and more resilient Orkney – where every household is better off.”
