The Orkney Community Planning Partnership is pleased to announce the publication of two key consultation reports on the Orkney Community Planning website:
- Orkney Matters Two – Public Consultation (May–October 2024)
- Orkney Matters Two – Creative Collaborations Arts Project (Spring 2025)
These reports capture the voices of communities across Orkney, reflecting local priorities, concerns, and aspirations. The 2024 consultation involved 20 meetings across the Mainland and Isles, using a “World Café” approach to discuss critical themes such as transport, health and care, housing, cost of living, and digital connectivity, alongside an open forum for wider issues.
The companion Creative Collaborations Arts Project report showcases an innovative approach to engagement, using creative workshops to involve groups who do not traditionally participate in consultations. Delivered in partnership with the Pier Arts Centre and local artists, this project highlights community perspectives through both written responses and visual artworks exhibited earlier this year.
Both reports provide valuable insights to inform future planning and decision-making, ensuring that community voices remain at the heart of Orkney’s development.
